Using the designated Safe Routes to school, students, teachers and parents joined in with schools all around the country and rode or walked to school as part of National Ride2School Day. Of the 345 students enrolled at Laurimar Primary, 301 rode their bike or scooter, and 26 walked – an outstanding achievement for everyone involved.
Ride 2 School Day was supported by Delfin staff, who provided traffic control at the main intersections, local MP and Doreen resident Danielle Green who participated in the ride, and new bike shop Bike ‘n Bean of South Morang who kindly donated a scooter to the school.
Laurimar Primary plans to hold two more Ride 2 School Days in Term 2, to further encourage its students to ride and walk to school.
