DVLC bings a "Touch of Gold" to Laurimar

Diamond Valley Learning Centre brought “a touch of gold” to Laurimar on Friday 30 April at the first in a series of monthly after school workshops.
Participants learned to make beautiful gold leaf cards, adding pressed flowers, leaves and feathers, and made their own matching envelopes. They did a fantastic job, and had a great time learning this fun new art form. Elisabeth Bromley of Out of the Pouch facilitated the craft and talked about the history of gold leaf, and how much beauty there is in the nature around us, so close to home.
These DVLC after-school craft workshops are great fun for 8-15yr olds and will be presented by Out of the Pouch on the last Friday of every month through to November.
The next session will be held on 28 May, at Laurimar Community Centre from 3:45pm - 5:45pm, with the theme being: “Play with Winter; Make a Beanie!” Create your own warm-as-toast beanie, including a pom-pom in your favourite (footy?) colours. Cost of the craft, including tuition and all materials, is $15.00.
Places are limited; ring DVLC 9435 9060 to book your child's place, or to enquire about other DVLC classes available at Laurimar Community Centre. (To enquire about Out of the Pouch parties or kits: ring 0417 003 956)
